Body Shots

Everyone's body carries a set of features that belong to them and no one else. As a society, we keep most of those features private, hidden beneath clothing chosen to decorate the body and distract from it. Outside of our most intimate partners, almost no one is given the privilege of an unfettered look. I've always been fascinated by seeing someone in their most raw form, stripped of distractions and barriers. I want to see past their face and the clothes they chose. I want to see THEM.

On the other side of the lens, the models are asked to trust me completely. I photograph their body in ways they can't control, from angles they've never seen of themselves. They have to be vulnerable. They have to let go and let the viewer look at parts of them in ways that even they never have.

This series features close-ups of the body from unusual perspectives, in black and white, lit hard so nothing hides. Every curve, fold, crevice, bone, and imperfection in the skin. The photos feel intimate, like you're exploring the body of a lover. No faces. No barriers. No distractions. Just the human body in its raw form.
